Finding Loads Of Web Design Clients

The key for any successful freelance business is the clients.
But they don't just fall out of the sky, all it takes is a little hard work and dedication to get potential customers asking for quotes.
Though they don't all come from one source, so I'll explain where you can find these sort of people and how to keep them attracted to your services.
Freelancer.
com
This has got to be my favourite and I've come a long way since I first started using this website to find clients.
Formerly known as GetAFreelancer when I was working on my first project, they've come a long way too becoming one of the largest websites in the world for outsourcing freelance work (and recently won a Webby award too).
It does take a bit of time getting started, but once you have some good work to show clients followed by a great proposal; you'll be working on projects in no time.
To me this is the simple bit, I believe the most important part of the work is the feedback, you gain good feedback and a lot of it, you'll be a very happy person.
Your reputation will make a huge difference to the chances you have of winning a project.
The other thing I like about it is the fact that you're provided with your own personal RSS feed that updates you with the latest projects according to the services you provide.
So sometimes some urgent projects will come up and if you've got a constantly updated list of projects you're likely to bid on, then you've got better chances and getting them too.
Other Outsourcing Places There are other websites out there such as Odesk.
com and Elance, but I simply find them complex and difficult to use.
Freelancer has always worked for me though I do try to use the other sites when I get the chance.
One outsourcing network that I would like to get started on is FreelanceSwitch by Envato as they have a reputation for developing amazing websites.
Word of Mouth and Repeat Clients Again, this is all about providing the best possible service to your clients and it will work out for the long term.
If a client's satisfied with your service, it's likely that they'll recommend you to their family and friends because they were so happy with what you did for them.
This is called word of mouth marketing, the other is when a client comes back to you for more work because again, they were happy with the work you did previously.
So always do your best, it works out better for you and your clients.
That's what being a freelancer is all about isn't it? Developing your skills along the way, and with the internet changing by the day, there's always something new to learn.
Social Networking Couldn't have missed this out, it's one of the most important way of marketing your product or service as the online world turns to social networking and peoples' opinions now have more power over the web.
I actively use Twitter and Facebook Pages on a daily basis to update my followers or interested users on my activities whether I'm starting a new project or found a cool set of Photoshop brushes, share it with everyone, use other social sites too including StumbleUpon, that's a big one, to gain a persons trust and before you know if you'll have people sending you private messages on there too regarding their needs.
Cold Calling and Local Marketing Cold calling is when you call up a potential client who you've never spoken to before and usually works well with local businesses, if you do try this technique, get to know about the person and their business from online or local resources.
It shows that you know what they're about so you can explain perhaps why they should have a website in the first place.
Local marketing is through things like newspapers, posting flyers etc...
It's good to advertise to clients in your local area because you can possibly strike a one to one meeting and this shows that they have a high interest in your services; so it's up to you to get it sold!
